Google previews Gemini API CLI and announces Agent Compute Engine

LyalinDotCom introduced the Gemini API CLI in preview, saying it lets agents generate images, videos, speech and music, analyze media, transcribe audio and manage agents. The account presented the CLI as a way to avoid manually selecting model strings or writing disposable scripts.

googlecloud separately announced Agent Compute Engine at AGNTCon and MCPCon. The account paired the announcement with expanded Gemini for business agent governance, describing capabilities for running, governing and scaling agents.
